Leading Liverpool anti-racist campaigner and ex MWOTY judge passes away

As Women In Business, Jean Ellie and Elaine send our very deepest sympathy to Dorothy’s family at this sad time. We experienced first hand the amazing legacy that Dorothy created, with the wonderful nominations she brought over the last 10 years from being on the judging panel of Merseyside Women of the Year and she was sorely missed last year when she decided to step down from the panel.

We have had some amazing and talented women that have been brought forward through Dorothy’s rich network into the community she loved. She was a true champion who was brave and outspoken and fought for what she believed in.

She was an advocate for women’s rights and an anti-racist campaigner and she is an outstanding example of how one person can make a huge a difference and be heard but had such a gentleness and humility that made her a force to be reckoned with. She will be remembered with fondness and we will certainly miss her for being the shining star that she was within the Liverpool community and beyond.
